App Management
Mixstart provides powerful application and file management features to help you organize your desktop content efficiently.
Add Items
You can add applications, files, or folders through the following steps:
- Select Category: Select a sub-category at the top of the app.
- Click Add: Right-click on the main interface and select "Add".
- Select Type:
- Application: Select a
.exeexecutable file. - File: Select files of any format (e.g., documents, images).
- Folder: Select a folder path.
- Application: Select a
- Fill Information: The system will automatically read the icon and name.
- Confirm Add: Click the "Add" button to finish.
TIP
You can also drag and drop files or shortcuts directly into the Mixstart window for quick adding.
Item Operations
Open Items
Double-click the item card to quickly open the corresponding application or file, or hold CTRL and click the item to open it.
Right-click Menu
Right-click on an item card for more operations:
- Open File Location: Locate the file in File Explorer.
- Run as Administrator: Run the program with elevated permissions.
- Move to Category: Move the item to any sub-category under the primary categories.
- Delete: Remove the item from the list (does not delete the local file).
Edit & Manage
- Pin: Click the thumbtack icon 📌 at the top-right of the card to fix frequently used apps at the top of the list.
- Edit: Modify the item name, path, or icon (coming in future updates).
- Move: Long-press and drag the card to reorder.
Batch Operations
Batch operations are useful when you need to organize a large number of items:
- Hold CTRL and click an item to summon the batch operation toolbar.
- Check the item cards you want to operate on.
- Select an operation:
- Select All: Select all items in the current view.
- Clear Selection: Deselect all checked items.
- Batch Delete: Remove selected items in bulk.
