Quick Assist

Quick Assist is Mixstart's Global AI Assistant, which can be evoked from any application to quickly process selected text or captured screen content.

Two Ways to Use

Method 1: Selected Text Analysis

Default Shortcut: Alt + Q

Steps:

1. Select a piece of text in any application.
2. Press Alt + Q.
3. The Quick Assist window pops up, displaying your selected content.
4. Click a quick action button (e.g., "Summarize", "Translate to Chinese"), or enter a custom question in the input box.
5. AI starts to answer.

Quick Action Buttons:

• 📝 Summarize — Extract key points of the article.
• 🌏 Translate to EN — Translate into English (or your target language).
• 💻 Explain Code — Explain code logic.
• ✨ Polish Text — Optimize expression.

If no text is selected, the window pops up with the previous content retained.

Method 2: Screenshot Analysis

Default Shortcut: Alt + W

Steps:

1. Press Alt + W.
2. A full-screen transparent mask appears, and the mouse becomes a crosshair.
3. Drag the mouse to box-select the area you want to analyze (the selection will show a glowing border and dimensions).
4. Release the mouse, and the Quick Assist window pops up, displaying a preview of the screenshot.
5. Click a quick action button (e.g., "Extract Text", "Describe Image"), or enter a custom question in the input box.
6. AI starts to answer.

Quick Action Buttons:

• 📝 Extract Text — Recognize text in the image (OCR).
• 👀 Describe Image — Describe image content.
• 📐 Analyze Layout — Analyze interface design structure.
• 🌏 Translate Content — Recognize and translate text in the image.

Cancel Screenshot: Press the Esc key, or simply click without dragging.

Follow-up Questions

AI remembers the current conversation context; you can continue to ask follow-up questions:

You: Translate this paragraph.
AI: This paragraph means...
You: Can you explain it in simpler words?
AI: Simply put...

The conversation resets each time you select new content or capture a new image.

Close Window

Click the × button at the top-right corner to close the window.

Pressing Alt + Q again can also hide the window.

Custom Shortcuts

If the default shortcuts conflict with other software, you can customize them:

1. Open Settings.
2. Click Shortcuts.
3. Find "AI Text Analysis" and "AI Screenshot Analysis".
4. Click the input box and press your desired shortcut combination.
5. Save settings.

FAQ

No response when pressing the shortcut?

• Confirm the shortcut is not occupied by other software.
• Try resetting the shortcut in Settings.
• Restart Mixstart and try again.

Shortcut pressed after selecting text, but no content in the window?

Some security software may block clipboard access, or the target application might not support text grabbing.

Screenshot analysis says "Image recognition not configured"?

Image recognition needs to be configured. Please go to Settings → AI Assistant → Image Recognition Configuration and follow the prompts to configure the Vision API.
