Desktop Widgets

Desktop widgets (formerly "Desktop Push") are a hallmark feature of Mixstart, allowing you to "pin" practical widgets or app groups directly onto your desktop.

Smart Memory

Mixstart supports automatic memory of the status of all your desktop components. When set to Auto-start with main program, opening the software will automatically restore all desktop widgets without needing to manually reopen them.

Desktop Fences

Desktop Fences help you designate areas on your desktop to categorize files and icons.

Create a Fence

1. Enter the "Desktop Widgets" page.
2. Right-click on an empty space and select "New Fence".
3. Set fence properties:
   • Name: The title of the fence.
   • Size & Position: Drag to adjust size and location.
   • Opacity: Adjust background transparency to blend with your wallpaper.
4. Select items to display in the fence.

Desktop Widgets

Mixstart has several built-in practical widgets that beautify your desktop while boosting efficiency.

Weather Widget

• Displays current city weather conditions, temperature, humidity, and wind direction.
• Supports weather forecasts for the next few days.
• Requires city configuration in settings (see Weather Config for details).

Clock & Calendar

• Clock: Provides various styles of digital and analog clocks.
• Calendar: Displays the current monthly calendar, supporting lunar dates and holiday displays.

System Monitor

Real-time monitoring of computer hardware status to visually understand system load:

• CPU Usage
• Memory (RAM) Occupancy
• Disk Read/Write Speed
• Network Upload/Download Speed (coming soon)

Notes

• Create sticky notes on your desktop to record inspirations or to-do items on the fly.
• Supports rich text editing and color marking.

Pomodoro Timer

A focus timer based on the Pomodoro Technique, helping you scientifically allocate work and rest time.

• Operation Modes: Supports automatic cycling between Focus, Short Break, and Long Break.
• Flexible Configuration:
  • Focus Duration: Customize the time for each focus session (default 25 min).
  • Break Duration: Set lengths for both short and long breaks.
  • Target Cycles: Set number of focus sessions before a long break (default 4).
• Automation: Supports "Auto-start next stage" for a seamless focus flow.
• Visual Feedback: View status through a circular progress bar and color-coded themes (Red/Green/Blue).

Countdown (Memorable Days)

Keep track of important dates directly on your desktop.

• Flexible Display: Shows remaining days, with optional precise hours, minutes, and seconds.
• Core Features:
  • Target Date: Supports specific time points (e.g., 2025-12-25 00:00:00) or just dates (e.g., 2025-05-01).
  • Expired Text: Customize the message shown when the date is reached (e.g., "Happy Birthday!").
  • Themes: Fully customizable theme colors with a large background watermark of the remaining days.
• Pulse Indicator: Built-in status light with a breathing effect.

Intelligent Display Adaptation (Adaptive UI)

Mixstart widgets feature intelligent environmental awareness, ensuring text remains legible on any background.

Background Brightness Detection

When you reduce the window opacity below 50%, the system automatically activates real-time background detection:

• Dark Wallpapers: Automatically switches to Pure White Text.
• Light Wallpapers: Automatically switches to Deep Black Text.
• Balanced Threshold: For gray or complex wallpapers, the system uses an optimized 150 brightness threshold, ensuring excellent contrast even in transition zones.

Minimalist Visual Design

To maintain a clean desktop aesthetic, adaptive mode removes unnecessary text shadows, achieving a more "printed" look when paired with modern sans-serif typography.

Push your to-do list onto the desktop to keep yourself focused at all times.
